Singles Day 2023, 2024 and 2025
Singles Day on 11 November has become the biggest shopping day of the year in China since it was first observed in the 1990s, and European countries such as Switzerland have also embraced Singles Day recently as a major online sales event.

Comparisons have been made between Singles Day and another foreign import: Black Friday sales originally from the United States. Singles Day is often seen as in direct competition with Black Friday since the latter also occurs during the month of November, and both “holidays” are used to motivate shoppers to spend big at sales events.
Singles Day is set on 11 November because that is the eleventh day of the eleventh month, which can be written with four numeral ones as 11-11.
